Mt. Everest
Mount Everest, or Mount Qomolangma. The Tibetan word Qomolangma means "Mother Earth".
珠穆朗玛峰，简称珠峰，
藏语珠穆朗玛的意思是“大地母亲”。
It is the main peak of the Himalayas and the highest mountain in China and the world. It is located on the border between China and Nepal.
The newly announced elevation of Mount Everest is 8848.86 meters.
珠峰，是喜马拉雅山脉的主峰，同时是中国、世界海拔最高的山峰，位于中国与尼泊尔边境线上。最新宣布的珠穆朗玛峰的高度是8848.86米。

Potala Palace
Potala Palace, built around 1,300 years ago in the center of Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. It's definitely a Tibet must-see and landmark. It was originally built by Songtsen Gampo of the Tubo Dynasty to marry Princess Wencheng.
The entire palace has a Tibetan style and was built on the mountainside, with a large area of stone walls standing like cut walls, making the building seem to be integrated with the hills.
You will reach the White Palace for lama – the religious leader of Tibet, and then the Red Palace for holding religious ceremonies.

Holy Lake - Namtso
Namtso is one of the three holy lakes and the largest saltwater lake in Tibet. The lake has an altitude of 4178 meters and an area of 1940 square kilometers.
【圣湖纳木错】纳木措是西藏的三大圣湖之一，西藏最大的咸水湖，湖面的海拔高度4178米。湖水的面积1940平方公里。

Jade Lake - Yamdrok Tso
You won't believe it is water!
It is one of the three holy lakes and the largest freshwater lake in Tibet. The words Yamdrok Tso in Tibetan mean "Jade Lake".
The lake surface is 4,441 meters above sea level, and the lake area is 675 square kilometers. There are 21 small islands in the lake on which live a variety of migratory birds and wild animals.
【羊卓雍措】藏语的意思是“碧玉湖”，这是西藏的三大圣湖之一，也是西藏最大的淡水湖，湖面海拔4441米，湖水的面积675平方公里，湖中有21个小岛，岛上生活着各种候鸟，和野生动物。

Khari La Glacier
It is the closest glacier to the driveways in Tibet. The nearest place to the driveway is only 300 meters. The glacier has an area of 118 square kilometers and an altitude of 5400 meters.
【卡若拉冰川】是离西藏公路最近的一个冰川，距离公路最近的地方只有300米。冰川的面积达118平方公里，冰川的海拔在5400米。

Yarlung Zangbo RiverLa
It is the longest plateau river in China and one of the highest rivers in the world.

Rongbuk Monastery
It is the highest monastery, about 5154 meters above sea level, located at the end of the Rongbuk Glacier at the foot of Mount Everest.

Tashilhunpo Monastery
It is the largest monastery in Shigatse and can accommodate 2,000 people for chanting. It covers an area of 150,000 square meters and has more than 3,600 houses.

Jokhang Temple
The Jokhang Temple has a history of more than 1,300 years. It has integrated the architectural styles of Tibet, the Tang Dynasty and Nepal, and has become a classical model of Tibetan religious architecture.

What is a Tibet Travel Permit (TTP)?
A Tibet Travel Permit is not a visa or any other kind of stamp that goes in your passport. It is an entirely separate document that is issued by the Tibet Tourism Bureau.
It is a must to Travel in Tibet and you can’t take your flight or train to Tibet without it.
It is issued by Tibet Tourism Bureau only and can be applied by travel agencies on behalf of you only.
Who Needs A Travel Tibet Permit?
All foreign citizens who hold non-Chinese passports
Chinese people who live overseas without Chinese passports
Taiwan residents
Note: Although people from Hong Kong and Macau do not need a Tibet Travel Permit, they shall need Chinese SAR passports and Home Return Permits.
Note: Your occupation on the Tibet permit shouldn’t be diplomat, journalist, or government official. Otherwise, you have to apply for a permit through the Tibet Foreign Affairs Office.
Smart Tips:
Your original permit will be checked at your departure place.
When you enter Tibet, the TTP can be checked at any time, especially, check-in at your hotel.
When you are in major Tibet attraction sites, the TTP may be checked.
Generally, it takes about 2~3 weeks to process a TTP, PM us ASAP when you want to travel to Tibet with a Perfect plan.
